According to the Immigration Control Act of
19 August 1993, all International students (SADC and Non-SADC) should be in
possession of a valid approved Study Permit and Visa before entering Namibia
for the purpose of studying.
-Except for persons with Permanent Namibian
Residence, Refugees or Asylum Seekers and Diplomatic representatives are
exempted from applying for a Study Permit and Visa.
-The mentioned categories are exempted on
condition that they provide the relevant documentation (i.e. Permanent
Residence Permit, approved and endorsed Refugee / Political Asylum Seekers
status, a Courtesy Visa that confirms diplomatic status).
Entry Requirements
- High school results.
- Radiological Report.
- Deed of Surety Form.

Medical Certificate (original).
- Two (2) Passport size photos.
- Admission letter from WHCC.
- Proof of Registration from WHCC.
- Proof of accommodation in Namibia.
- Completed main application form and visa form.
- Police Clearance from home country (compulsory).
- Reasons for studying in Namibia (write one paragraph).
- Proof of medical aid/insurance (valid and active) – there is a valid
medical aid/insurance option available at the University. (Interested? Contact
our International Students’ office below).
Please take note:
- All copies must be certified.
- A letter indicating as to who is paying for your
studies needs to be included.
- A copy of the page in your passport that was stamped
when entering Namibia.
- A copy of your passports.
- Study permit fee for the year of study will only be
paid once your application has been approved.
- You first have to register, and submit all documents at
the final point of your registration.
- No application forms will be accepted after
any announced due dates.
- Always make copies of all your receipts and
or documents that you be submitting.
- Payment receipts copies will be submitted
during the permit endorsement time, make sure you have it safe.
STUDY AND WORK VISAS
Study and work visas are not issued by the
Embassy but they are issued at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration,
Safety and Security in Windhoek.
Study and work visas can be applied for a
maximum period of 6 months.
You can apply through the Embassy.
Please send the completed visa application

It is indicated on the page 2 that this form
is for (A) Holiday/Business/Work/Transit visa and (B) Return visa.
Please note that this form is also to be filled
in when applying for study visa.
Do not fill in the application form for
Temporary work or study permit. It is to be filled in when a person is going to
Namibia for a period of more than 6 months.

N.B. regarding passport - Passport must be valid at least six (6)
months after departure from Namibia. Please note that airline companies might
require machine-readable passport - also when traveling with
provisional/emergency passport
